AuctionIT comes with password protection. The password can be modified or removed (if desired) at will.
A hotkey can be used to popup a password screen, to lock the database at any time.

A more elaborate and secure system is also available based on the Access Security system. This provides individual usernames and passwords, and provides different levels of permissions, on both an individual and group basis. This more elaborate system is set up on a case-by-case basis according to the requirements of the individual organisation.
There are only two files needed to operate AuctionIT, and they can be copied to any computer,(that runs Access 2002, 2003 or 2007 and meets the system requirements) and used to conduct an auction.
Full functionality would require the transfer of additional supporting files: e.g. the Word templates used for mail merges, any photos of items etc.
If Access Security was installed, then an additional step is needed to transfer the database to another computer.
In the event of a system crash during an auction, AuctionIT can be immediately restarted on another computer, using the most recent backup of the data.
AuctionIT has built in click-a-button backup of data. At any quiet moment during an auction, all the data can be copied to any selected destination, such as a RW CD, Zip Disk or a Memory Stick. The backup file is automatically named with the date and time of the backup.
Frequent backup of data is strongly recommended.
Yes, of course. AuctionIT hs been designed to meet common auction reqirements, but not all auctions are the same. A range of options are built into the program as Preferences , but many further variations are possible. Because AuctionIT uses just two files, one for all your data, and one for all the programming it is easy to continue to modify the program after you start using it. In fact this is very common.
Using AuctionIT you compile a database of every item you have ever sold.
AuctionIT provides a search capacity, allowing all items that match entered keywords to be retrieved, showing what happened to the item at auction. Each item has a description field that contains the information that will appear in the catalogue, and an extra information field that contains information relevant to valuation that will not appear in the catalogue.
AuctionIT has a permanent bidder feature. Permanent bidders are automatically allocated the same Bidder No for each auction. Add you staff to the permanent bidders and they are always registered. Permanent Bidders can be exempted for paying any Registration Deposit. Bidders can also be exempt from paying the Buyers Premium.
AuctionIT requires Microsoft Access 2002, 2003 or 2007 to run,and the complete Office Professional 2002, 2003 or 2007 for full functionality.
Provided you have this softtware installed it will run on any off-the-shelf personal computer as long as it meets the minimum system requirements.
When you run AuctionIT on multiple computers, AuctionIT needs to be configured so that one of the computers acts as a server, and the others as clients. This is easy to do. There must be only copy of the data.
Theoretically, you can have a very large number of clients, but the system will slow down as the number of clients increases. It is best to keep the number of active clients to five at any one time.
The price of AuctionIT is $2000 plus GST which equals $2200.
This price includes installation and setup support, and ongoing support for 12 months. Also included are any upgrades that become available for 12 months.
If you require the programme to be customised to meet your specific requirements that may incur additional charge. If the feature(s) you ask for represent enhancements that would benefit the majority of AuctionIT users, then the developer may include them in the standard programme free of charge.
